This channel is for changing, adding and updating roles on the current "detailed book of instructions"! We would love all your suggestions ❤
Hex4Nova 18-Feb-19 08:02 AM
fix the thing
thank you
Vyryn 18-Feb-19 09:11 AM
@marhjo I think you have a whole bunch of good suggestions to put here?
marhjo 18-Feb-19 09:12 AM
Yeps, but I won't put them here just yet
+ I don't have a changelog of things I have changed o.o
Vyryn 18-Feb-19 09:23 AM
1⃣ give Innocents (only the regular old boring kind) the role of one random other townie (edited)
no 2
yes 5
2⃣ give white werewolf detection immunity instead of a werewolf kill; if checked by aura teller they'd still show as a threat, but by the fortune teller and warlock they should show up as innocent (unless there's no innocents in the game, in which case the most common innocent role) (edited)
no 3
yes 4
3⃣ Assassin should have only 3 bullets total rather than a bullet every night
no 1
yes 8
4⃣ sacred wolf should only protect from night kills once, like a runner
no 1
yes 7
5⃣ tanner should only be able to disguise 2 players rather than 3
yes 5
no 3
6⃣ the vampire should be able to demonize two players each night instead of one
yes 5
no 2
marhjo 18-Feb-19 09:31 AM
7⃣ Barbers effect should be end day effect instead of immediate effect to keep consistency.
no 4
yes 5
Vyryn 18-Feb-19 09:31 AM
8⃣ Immortal should get only one regular vote on polls, but other aspects of the role should remain unchanged
no 1
yes 5
Here's some relatively minor balance changes, some inspired by marhjo's suggestions (though he has some much more significant ones as well, which should probably be implemented separately and one at a time if at all) and some of my own.
marhjo 18-Feb-19 09:33 AM
I will write the full changelog I suggested later on -------------- (edited)
👤 Role Suggestion Receptionist Each night the Receptionist can get a status on a specific role. Checking the status of a specific role will let the Receptionist know how many of that role are left in the game. Checking the status of a specific role is an immediate effect. Checking status on roles works on any role whether in the game or not. (edited)
no 4
yes 5
9⃣ The witch' life potion should only affect three individuals and the witch itself rather than affecting all player. (edited)
no 5
yes 2
Vyryn 18-Feb-19 09:38 AM
(I know it's gonna look like I'm against all your suggestions just because they are yours, but actually I posted all your minor ones that I agree with) (edited)
marhjo 18-Feb-19 09:42 AM
I kinda find that the witch life potion is just a way to drag on the game for longer, since it makes it so no one can die for the whole night.
Vyryn 18-Feb-19 09:43 AM
It helps the innocent team significantly; provides a lynch without a wolf kill one day.
marhjo 18-Feb-19 09:43 AM
Making it so it only affects the witch + one other individual might be a good way to nerf it.
It also affects cult kill
Vyryn 18-Feb-19 09:43 AM
Your potion of life is just a one shot doctor - potentially the same, but weaker maybe
marhjo 18-Feb-19 09:44 AM
It makes it so there is no wolf kill, cult kill or assassin kills. Which in actuality just is a way to drag on the game for longer (edited)
Vyryn 18-Feb-19 09:45 AM
Once again, no; the lynch still happens for that phase so it's a significant help to the innocent team. But on the other hand it takes very little skill to use effectively
marhjo 18-Feb-19 09:46 AM
Yes, the lynch happens, but you also sacrifice a cult kill or other kills if let's say the assassin tries to kill someone.
Vyryn 18-Feb-19 09:47 AM
There isn't always a cult or assassin, and there are several cases I can think of offhand where it would be worth it for the innocent team to prevent both the werewolf and cult kills
But really, more fundamentally, I think you've yet to give the witch a chance. The potion of life has never yet been in a game, so I think the role should stay the way it is until/unless we see it is unbalanced
marhjo 18-Feb-19 09:48 AM
I would rather have it affect 3 players rather than affecting everyone, so there is at least some skill in using the potion.
Vyryn 18-Feb-19 09:49 AM
I support 3 players. again, though, I think all changes you have for roles that we have yet to see in use shouldn't be made until we see the original role used effectively at least once
marhjo 18-Feb-19 09:51 AM
I changed 9⃣ now
Vyryn 18-Feb-19 09:52 AM
I've withdrawn my x, but won't put a check; I still think changes shouldn't be made until after we see the role in action at least once
Hex4Nova 18-Feb-19 10:23 AM
The receptionist can only be considered balanced if the role list is either blind or partially unknown (edited)
marhjo 18-Feb-19 10:24 AM
Let's say I know there is 3 wolfs, and then the next night I would check how many wolves are left and got 2 players with Werewolf role left then I knew we killed a standard wolf
Hex4Nova 18-Feb-19 10:25 AM
Except if I can use the ability to read the dead player's role, it would effectively render Reporter useless in 80% of cases (edited)
marhjo 18-Feb-19 10:25 AM
But the receptionist would need to ask for a certain role.
If you die as a wolf, and I ask for a status on "Immortals" then I don't know what you were.
Hex4Nova 18-Feb-19 10:26 AM
The point of Reporter is that any faction can gain the ability to see dead roles, which adds to the suspension Receptionist however is permanently town-sided
which is why I said 80% of cases, while you can't guarantee you know what role the dead player is and verify it with the ability, checking any role with no deaths will eliminate the possibility that no one that has died between the last check and the next check has that role
marhjo 18-Feb-19 10:29 AM
If I know the game started off with 1 vampire, and I ask after 6 people died: "How many vampires are left?" and I get 0 as an answer, then I know one of the 6 people were vampire, but if I get 1 then I know they weren't vampires. Which balance the role quite nicely imo.
Hex4Nova 18-Feb-19 10:29 AM
The receptionist's ability is incredibly versatile and therefore broken because you can already see exactly how many of each role there are in the game, making the first initial checks unnecessary and saving several nights of preparation
marhjo 18-Feb-19 10:30 AM
You can see how many of one role each night, not every role every night (edited)
Hex4Nova 18-Feb-19 10:30 AM
I'm aware
marhjo 18-Feb-19 10:31 AM
But still, the receptionist could just as well have partnered up with a wolf, and feed them all the information. It is all about the mental games and lying 😛
Hex4Nova 18-Feb-19 10:32 AM
you could argue that for any role though
an argument isn't valid if it's universal
marhjo 18-Feb-19 10:34 AM
But if it is universal, then it means that it is not just town sided, then everyone would be able to get the receptionists information.
Vyryn 18-Feb-19 10:51 AM
uh, I don't follow marjo
Re:Hex. Receptionist can use it's ability for a variety of things. One of those is a weaker version of the Reporter. I don't think that automatically makes it unbalanced. (edited)
Hex4Nova 18-Feb-19 12:36 PM
Like I said, I can totally imagine it work in a game where the role list isn't completely open and limited
In fact I have a role similar to that in another game I worked on, and it's too powerful if they already know the amount of every role from the beginning
Then again I think most roles in Werewolves are unbalanced so I shouldn't be the one to judge (edited)
marhjo 18-Feb-19 12:39 PM
A lot of roles are unbalanced, that is true, but that is also a reason for this channel 😄
Lord of Galaxy 18-Feb-19 01:17 PM
I agree that roles are unbalanced, however, that is not what matters all on its own. What matters is if the different sides are balanced
Some roles will always remain more interesting and powerful than others, no way around it
Also, reporter is powerful in the case when there are just a handful of roles
Otherwise it's basically 'guess the role of the dead'
Very hard to actually play it well
It's not as powerful as the reporter
However, it provides a way for the townies to check if the reporter is telling the truth
marhjo 18-Feb-19 01:40 PM
Just to clarify: "give townies the role of one random other townie" means that all innocent people (People with the innocent role)
I really don't understand the reason to why people are voting against giving the innocent role a use 🤔
Lord of Galaxy 18-Feb-19 01:52 PM
Oh, only the innocent role?
I thought it meant all people on the town side, including things like cult and bakers and all
marhjo 18-Feb-19 02:08 PM
Nonono 😛 Just the innocents
@Vyryn Can you edit your message to say "Give Innocent roles the role of one random townie" just to clarify it?
Lord of Galaxy 18-Feb-19 03:33 PM
My vote is subject to that condition^
Vyryn 18-Feb-19 08:35 PM
done
galax I see you're against my suggested white werewolf change? why is that
SuperbWolfPack 18-Feb-19 09:15 PM
Just make a different role
souless_2nd 18-Feb-19 10:01 PM
I propose different versions of the same role
As if we wanted to keep a role the way it was to be used one season and use a different version of the role another
ubq323 18-Feb-19 10:17 PM
That's a good idea
souless_2nd 18-Feb-19 10:18 PM
It’ll settle a few debates and we have all have what we want
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 08:27 AM
@Vyryn I am against it because i fail to see how a white werewolf with detection immunity could ever win if he can't kill anyone
It will become an even harder role
My suggestion is to allow www to keep his killing ability but give him some level of immunity - i.e. he shows up as a normal werewolf
Vampire I recommend a tiny change - have two vampires, both of whom can demonize one person each
Like flute
marhjo 19-Feb-19 10:04 AM
Maybe if the white werewolf kills, he will get detection immunity for 1 day 🤔
ubq323 19-Feb-19 10:11 AM
Could work
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 04:32 PM
Hmm
Make it two days
❌ 3
Topkinsme 19-Feb-19 05:28 PM
How about the assassin gets a bullet every other day / once a week and they stack, but he can only kill a person a day?
pretty dumb ik
souless_2nd 19-Feb-19 05:29 PM
I like it
I get what your saying Like save them the first few days then get consecutive kills
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 05:29 PM
petition to make detection immunity make the FT see runner
also, make tanner/warlock win with white ww
souless_2nd 19-Feb-19 05:31 PM
I like that last idea
I’m just going to pin a few of the ones some of us might like
Pinned a message.
Pinned a message.
Pinned a message.
Pinned a message.
Pinned a message.
That’s enough for now
ubq323 19-Feb-19 05:36 PM
The assassin thingy could work
Maybe, get a bullet on the first night, nothing on the second night, bullet on the third night, and so on
That makes it slightly more underpowered, so what about saying they can use as many bullets as they like on any night
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 05:37 PM
so shoot every other night but be able to shoot as many people as they want?
ubq323 19-Feb-19 05:38 PM
No
They save up the bullets
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 05:38 PM
I'd prefer a different idea entirely: the assassin starts off with three bullets, and gets one more every week
But they can only kill one person a night
ubq323 19-Feb-19 05:38 PM
Then can use as many of their bullets as they want each night but they have to have those bullets
@Lord of Galaxy the game will very rarely last more than a week
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 05:39 PM
But that makes it way too overpowered then if they can kill as many as they like
If they save for say two times, and use up all at the third time, they can probably destroy the wolves in a single go
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 05:40 PM
okay so: 1 bullet every other night can save and shoot multiple people sounds like a good idea tbh
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 05:40 PM
There's nothing on the wolf side to match that kind of sheer powef
*power
No, I'm afraid I must vote against this idea
And very strongly so
I do not mind all the other aspects except the multiple kills in a ho
*go
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 05:50 PM
? @Lord of Galaxy
marhjo 19-Feb-19 05:52 PM
No multiple kills in a night, only one that should be able to do that is pyro
Too inconsistent compared to other roles.
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 05:53 PM
Agreed @marhjo
@WhyThough ?
Topkinsme 19-Feb-19 06:01 PM
I heavily disagree to multiple kills on a night
He's god at that level
Hex4Nova 19-Feb-19 06:02 PM
even then pyro is still one kill per night
it's just saving up for kills
Topkinsme 19-Feb-19 06:03 PM
Or if you guys want multiple kills a night, you have to make it so that it's hard to get bullets
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:03 PM
I receive more support
Topkinsme 19-Feb-19 06:03 PM
That's fine by me
Like he gets 2 bullets per 5 days
That's balanced to me
And and if it's too powerful, make it a solo role
He wants everyone ded
K it's late in the night for me and i have an exam tommorow so 👋
marhjo 19-Feb-19 06:05 PM
Or, as we suggested first, giving the assassin 3 bullets total from the begining and then they can use 1 at most at night.
Easier to understand, Easier to manage
Hex4Nova 19-Feb-19 06:06 PM
love me some shooting-confirmed-town action
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:07 PM
The vigilante shot the jailor.
Hex4Nova 19-Feb-19 06:07 PM
The vig just shot the revived town
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:07 PM
petition to have a TP role
in this
Hex4Nova 19-Feb-19 06:07 PM
The vig just shot fucking mayor
after revealing
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:08 PM
I like the 3 bullets idea
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:08 PM
"I gOt wItChEd"
Hex4Nova 19-Feb-19 06:08 PM
you see, the problem with can-kill-anything town roles is that they can kill anything (edited)
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:08 PM
Though to anyone suggesting it's too less, I wished to pacify them by giving an extra bullet every week
@Hex4Nova how is that a problem?
Hex4Nova 19-Feb-19 06:08 PM
no penalty for team kill
essentially promoting sacrifices in the name of justice
while this sounds ok in theory, the more townies you kill the easier you're making it for evils
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:09 PM
I don't see a problem with that. There is always an implicit penalty to team kills
Yeah so what the heck is the problem with that?
That's why they need to be careful with their kills
Killing a townie does harm to them
Hex4Nova 19-Feb-19 06:11 PM
yeah, but if you enforce a physical penalty people will be more careful, not everyone understands the connection between killing a town and harder to win
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:11 PM
imagine a gamethrowing assassin
Hex4Nova 19-Feb-19 06:11 PM
vig penalty 101
marhjo 19-Feb-19 06:11 PM
Game throwing is being punished
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:11 PM
yes
Hex4Nova 19-Feb-19 06:12 PM
obviously, but you can't save what has been done
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:12 PM
the last time game throwing was punished was at the very end of the game
marhjo 19-Feb-19 06:12 PM
We can't remove game throwers before the game throwing has happened.
The last time we punish someone for game throwing was actually the game before this one.
Hex4Nova 19-Feb-19 06:13 PM
it's not impossible for a new player to shoot a confirmed town without realizing that they are in fact confirmed
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:13 PM
Game throwing does require a stronger punishment, earlier we used to wait till end of game but I'd recommend doing it as soon as they gamethrow. Dunno how it works now though, so disregard my comment if it's already been changed
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:13 PM
give assassins an extra bullet on n3, but if they shoot a townie, they commit deAD
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:14 PM
What
marhjo 19-Feb-19 06:14 PM
Ehm
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:14 PM
I don't see why everyone is trying to change the very way they game works...
Hex4Nova 19-Feb-19 06:14 PM
you know me well enough to know why (edited)
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:14 PM
because the the way the game works is pretty bad
lol
marhjo 19-Feb-19 06:15 PM
Werewolves is sometimes just works like that, you kill a townie, bad luck, game continues.
If werewolves worked so badly as you are saying Whythough, then it wouldn't be as popular as it is xD (edited)
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:15 PM
Hex specifically appears to dislike everything about the game😒
souless_2nd 19-Feb-19 06:15 PM
This game?
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:16 PM
Werewolves
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:16 PM
this is incorrect because the innocent role exists @marhjo
souless_2nd 19-Feb-19 06:16 PM
I personally like many things about this game and dislike a few things as well
Hex4Nova 19-Feb-19 06:16 PM
well you know how I am with werewolves fingerguns
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:16 PM
Which is why your comments no longer hold much weight
Hex4Nova 19-Feb-19 06:16 PM
I'm aware
marhjo 19-Feb-19 06:16 PM
You don't like the game because of the innocent roles existents? Whythough? (edited)
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:16 PM
Complain too often and people start ignoring you eventually
Hex4Nova 19-Feb-19 06:17 PM
I'm actually surprised you are actually taking my words seriously (edited)
souless_2nd 19-Feb-19 06:17 PM
I don’t take anyone seriously
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:17 PM
marhjo why are you taking me seriously
marhjo 19-Feb-19 06:18 PM
Because I take people seriously when they express their opinions
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:18 PM
They/we listen because you're putting across your thoughts. But I assure you your efforts are wasted because most of your suggestions end up getting rejected
souless_2nd 19-Feb-19 06:18 PM
Are you saying your wanting new mechanics to the game? @WhyThough
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:18 PM
no
souless_2nd 19-Feb-19 06:18 PM
Oof
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:19 PM
@WhyThough um, what are you saying?
Hex4Nova 19-Feb-19 06:19 PM
I don't dislike werewolves, and I don't really have anything against the server itself. I think the way the games on here works (central game mechanics etc.) is fairly acceptable, but there are a lot of key elements that I feel are missing, which is why I regularly tried to push for them
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:20 PM
But you push for too many changes
souless_2nd 19-Feb-19 06:20 PM
Which were
I’d like to hear them
As I have lots of changes I try to push
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:21 PM
Your suggestions are almost always radically opposite to what is currently in use
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:21 PM
unlike town of salem almost every role in this game is stupidly unbalanced in power
Hex4Nova 19-Feb-19 06:21 PM
>implying ret isn't broken
souless_2nd 19-Feb-19 06:21 PM
What
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:21 PM
finE HEX
lmao
Hex4Nova 19-Feb-19 06:22 PM
I do remember I've pushed for town protective, haven't I?
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:22 PM
we need TP
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:22 PM
@WhyThough see, comments of this kind are utterly useless, and do not aid in constructive discussion

souless_2nd 19-Feb-19 06:22 PM
You mean the guardian? @Hex4Nova
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:22 PM
@Lord of Galaxy you can easily tell what I mean though
Hex4Nova 19-Feb-19 06:22 PM
yes
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:22 PM
Take innocent
souless_2nd 19-Feb-19 06:22 PM
@SuperbWolfPack stop telling people to sign up
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:22 PM
and then take fortune teller
and then take baker
souless_2nd 19-Feb-19 06:22 PM
I liked the guardian personally but they took him out some reason
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:22 PM
@WhyThough and what about them?
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:22 PM
their power is pretty unbalanced
okay replace baker with butcher instead
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:23 PM
@souless_2nd wasn't guardian an elected role at some point of time?
souless_2nd 19-Feb-19 06:23 PM
Yes
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:23 PM
@WhyThough explain how.
souless_2nd 19-Feb-19 06:23 PM
They got rid of him and I had big sad
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:23 PM
@Lord of Galaxy explain how an innocent and FT have the same power
marhjo 19-Feb-19 06:23 PM
The roles are unbalanced and so what? That is not the point, the point is to have a balanced role list and having town and werewolf side balanced.
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:24 PM
>balanced list with unbalanced roles
>hmmmm
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:24 PM
@WhyThough obviously they don't. Are you saying you want all roles to be perfectly equal in terms of power? Is that what you refer to by unbalanced?
souless_2nd 19-Feb-19 06:24 PM
The roles should be balanced no matter what
SuperbWolfPack 19-Feb-19 06:24 PM
Making role suggestions doesn’t matter if the roles can’t be used because no one plays
souless_2nd 19-Feb-19 06:24 PM
^
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:25 PM
No roles have to be perfectly equal in power
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:25 PM
Then?
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:25 PM
But if one role is like 100x better than other
that's a problem
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:25 PM
Fortune teller also has problems
souless_2nd 19-Feb-19 06:25 PM
Such as?
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:25 PM
You realise that FT is a prime target?
souless_2nd 19-Feb-19 06:26 PM
Yes
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:26 PM
You realize that active people are a prime target?
marhjo 19-Feb-19 06:26 PM
An innocent and a Fortune teller are nowhere near complarable in any way. The risk to reward balance has to be equal, not role to role. Fortune Teller has shit ton of risk, but can gain shit ton of reward, while innocents are just innocent, not risk no reward at all.
👆 2
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:26 PM
wait what
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:27 PM
@WhyThough are they now? That's only a problem because some people are inactive
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:27 PM
shit ton risk, shit ton reward no risk, no reward
ubq323 19-Feb-19 06:27 PM
You need to have basic innocents because otherwise there's no claim space
Hex4Nova 19-Feb-19 06:27 PM
So you're essentially implying innocents are expendable bullet-takers that don't even get a win if they do get expended
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:27 PM
That's exactly the main fucking problem
SuperbWolfPack 19-Feb-19 06:27 PM
Lol
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:27 PM
I wouldn't being caring about this whole balance thing if you didn't lose if you fucking died
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:27 PM
@Hex4Nova you don't understand what claim space is?
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:27 PM
That is EXACTLY why people are inactive
marhjo 19-Feb-19 06:28 PM
There is a heccing reason why Vyryn and I suggested 1⃣ (Look in pinned)
Hex4Nova 19-Feb-19 06:28 PM
I brought that term over here god damn it I know damn well what it means
ubq323 19-Feb-19 06:28 PM
To be honest it'd be nice if you got some kind of reward if your team won
Even if you were dead
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:28 PM
@Hex4Nova then how the heck are they 'bullet-takers'?
marhjo 19-Feb-19 06:28 PM
Which is why we should implement the system that @Vyryn has on the vip system for rewarding winners.
Hex4Nova 19-Feb-19 06:28 PM
well clearly if no reward = no risk, then it means you're not as important (edited)
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:29 PM
They're bullet-takers because they have to speak whilst FTs lay in the fuckin' dark
Hex4Nova 19-Feb-19 06:29 PM
which implies that the point of innocents is to make sure power roles stay safe
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:29 PM
They have to sacrifice their victory for more important roles
marhjo 19-Feb-19 06:29 PM
The thing is, that werewolves is more than just what your role can do. It is also about being able to mentally outplay your opponent.
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:29 PM
This would not be a problem if we could just damn win when dead!
ubq323 19-Feb-19 06:29 PM
Tbh
@marhjo what would you say to "you win if your team wins even if you're dead"
Hex4Nova 19-Feb-19 06:30 PM
well acktchually, any mafia or werewolf-format games rely heavily on psychology plays and strategies
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:30 PM
Why so fixed on "winning"?
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:30 PM
because victory is good?
marhjo 19-Feb-19 06:31 PM
Which is why we should implement the system that Vyryn has on the vip system for rewarding winners. It gives plays who won and are alive 1 point, and players who won but are dead 0.5 point.
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:31 PM
But if your team has won due to your actions, would that not be reward enough?
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:31 PM
I have never seen a point weaker than "Why so fixed on 'winning'?"
Because maybe if you fucking win, you can get a pretty epic season rank?
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:31 PM
That is because you perhaps don't see glory in leading a team to victory, even if it means you sacrifice yourself
You earn the respect of others
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:32 PM
and no, if your team wins, people are too fucking selfish
no you don't?
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:32 PM
Then I must say this server has lost all the good players

marhjo 19-Feb-19 06:32 PM
I still remember some memorable games where one ended up sacrificing to kill someone else.
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:32 PM
I do too
Those were good days man
Back then no one cared about that 'winning' tag
They wanted to have a fun game
marhjo 19-Feb-19 06:33 PM
It was a huntress who sacrificed themselves to kill an important player who were in reality a wolf.
WhyThough 19-Feb-19 06:33 PM
This argument is stupid
and now Lord speaks like a 1970s parent
Lord of Galaxy 19-Feb-19 06:34 PM
I fail to understand how it is stupid

Why does marhjo always say something nice ore innocent? 🤔
Hex4Nova 19-Feb-19 06:45 PM

Vyryn 19-Feb-19 09:31 PM
@Lord of Galaxy I disagree that taking away the www's night kill would make it too hard for them - carefully balancing the lynch and nightly kills is already necessary as white werewolf, it just becomes that little bit more important, and the white werewolf doesn't have to worry so much about stupid losses from night 1 double detection anymore. But, as a happy medium in recognition that a newer player probably wouldn't understand how to make that work: @marhjo I like the idea of encouraging the white werewolf to kill by giving them detection immunity for doing so. Perhaps as follows: White werewolf gets detection immunity for the first 2 days as I described originally If white werewolf kills on day 2, they get 2 more days of immunity, and same for days 4, 6 etc. So if they kill every time they are able to, they have detection immunity the whole game, but it will make it much harder for them to win in another way, because the wolves will be dying off too quickly. I'm also in support of tanner/warlock winning with either the wolf team or the white wolf: if they get this, perhaps they should see through the white wolf's immunity. the assassin having multiple kills is definitely overpowered. My suggestion is 3 bullets, max 1 used in a given night. A viable alternative would be basically changing the assassin into the priest, but we've already got the priest. (this was WhyThough's suggestion of "give assassins an extra bullet on n3, but if they shoot a townie, they commit deAD") I'm in support of bringing back the Guardian Which is why we should implement the system that @Vyryn has on the vip system for rewarding winners. I can start doing this, though I no longer have complete history of every persons role in every game - I'd need that. Btw, please open up the game log channels and stuff in between games....
ubq323 19-Feb-19 09:35 PM
looks good to me
i would open up the game logs but i don't have permission to edit that category for some silly reason
Vyryn 19-Feb-19 09:46 PM
@marhjo can do it
marhjo 19-Feb-19 09:46 PM
gimme 5 min 😄
Vyryn 19-Feb-19 09:49 PM
👍
marhjo 21-Feb-19 01:25 PM
The suggestions: 1⃣ - Give Innocents (only the regular old boring kind) the role of one random other townie. 3⃣ - Assassin should have only 3 bullets total rather than a bullet every night. 4⃣ - Sacred wolf should only protect from night kills once, like a runner. It has also been renamed to Scared Wolf now. 5⃣ - Tanner should only be able to disguise 2 players rather than 3. 6⃣ - The vampire should be able to demonize two players each night instead of one. Has been approved, and will if possible, be happening in the upcoming game.
SuperbWolfPack 21-Feb-19 02:25 PM
The innocent can be crowd seeker or runner for an example? Just don’t put innocent in the game
marhjo 21-Feb-19 02:33 PM
Nah, Innocent is a great role for claimspace, so we gotta have them
But now they are really fund 😄
Lord of Galaxy 21-Feb-19 03:59 PM
Scared Wolf sounds ridiculous
No offence, but it really does
Sacred was a lot better
WhyThough 21-Feb-19 04:07 PM
Scared Wolf holy shit
Lord of Galaxy 21-Feb-19 04:33 PM
What?
Vyryn 26-Feb-19 06:51 PM
Suggestion: change wager to 3 options: View a role, Kill someone or nothing. Only nothing would avoid giving the devil a soul.
👍 3
Regicide 26-Feb-19 07:13 PM
Seems logical
marhjo 26-Feb-19 08:22 PM
So you suggest that seeing a role should also cost a soul?
HurricanKai 26-Feb-19 09:37 PM
i told the GMs my view on this before, i think Devil is incredibly difficult to play, but if played well, is possible to do. The Devil has to behave like a Devil would, make People hate each other, making them wanting to kill each other enough to, when given the chance, use it.
i think it is similar to White werewolf, trying to split people apart for their own good
ubq323 26-Feb-19 09:59 PM
i think you do have a point, kai, but even so playing as the devil is quite difficult
I think I agree with vyryn here
HurricanKai 26-Feb-19 10:01 PM
i don't think this helps making the Devil easier. I think he should get more strings attached to each action. I mean you all know the Stories about the Devil right? That way whatever you do you get hit with something. Then i'd consider the option to do nothing. but like this?
(and with more strings attached i mean different ones, not the simple give me your soul system :/)
ubq323 26-Feb-19 10:05 PM
you do have a point
but i personally am against complicated roles
i think the spirit of this game, as you put it, is more about psychology than complex role strategies
unlike, say, Town of Salem
marhjo 26-Feb-19 10:06 PM
If we make it like Vyryn suggests, people will just use no powers, and then the devil might end up being harder than currently
👆 2
HurricanKai 26-Feb-19 10:06 PM
yeah, that's what i want, i want to make the Devil more about convincing people to hate each other, distributing false information etc.
marhjo 26-Feb-19 10:06 PM
Remember, the devil gets the information that the person gets when inspecting a role
Vyryn 27-Feb-19 04:07 AM
Fair points, but I still think the Devil needs a bit of a buff. How about this: Same two wager options, but if you choose to see a role the devil gets to see not only the role you see but also your role. So it would be: Wager chat: you got the devil's wager I want to see Joe's role Joe has the role of Cursed Civilian! Devil chat: Who will you target? Bob Your target choose to see the role of Joe, and Joe has the role of Cursed Civilian. Your target Bob has the role of Werewolf!
Hex4Nova 27-Feb-19 09:54 AM
Since we're talking about Devil buffs I'd like to repost this suggestion of an entire new faction I wrote last year https://docs.google.com/document/d/1sfRmDFbM5urA0wokP878HOJ47RLw9t_d6mmYLLQU0WQ/edit (edited)
I still think some of these are applicable
You can disregard completely broken roles and game mechanics like the Whisperer, please don't refer to the entire document as invalid because of that (edited)
Lord of Galaxy 27-Feb-19 09:56 AM
The devil definitely needs a buff
But I strongly recommend against the nothing option
Would make the devil's job much harder as everyone chooses nothing
You saw this game
Hex4Nova 27-Feb-19 09:59 AM
wait, do you have to choose if you're given the wager?
Lord of Galaxy 27-Feb-19 09:59 AM
Everyone choose to inspect
Hex4Nova 27-Feb-19 09:59 AM
oh cool
Lord of Galaxy 27-Feb-19 09:59 AM
Not choosing counts as inactivity
marhjo 27-Feb-19 10:00 AM
You can also choose to abstain, and do nothing
It has always been an option
Lord of Galaxy 27-Feb-19 10:00 AM
Hmm
Then everyone will end up choosing nothing...
marhjo 27-Feb-19 10:00 AM
But usually everyone inspects since it doesn't cost anything
Lord of Galaxy 27-Feb-19 10:00 AM
I think most importantly, the devil is missing out on the first night
A big problem
marhjo 27-Feb-19 10:01 AM
Maybe if the devil started the game with 1 soul
It would be a small buff
Lord of Galaxy 27-Feb-19 10:01 AM
Devil should choose in the day, and the wager target chooses in the night (edited)
dayy 27-Feb-19 10:01 AM
I think Vyryn's buff is good
Hex4Nova 27-Feb-19 10:01 AM
is it not already that?
dayy 27-Feb-19 10:01 AM
We can't choose nothing
marhjo 27-Feb-19 10:02 AM
You can
No one does tho
Hex4Nova 27-Feb-19 10:02 AM
what do you think of my suggestion
marhjo 27-Feb-19 10:02 AM
Nothing has always been an option
Can't read it currently on phone right now, will read in 10 min or so
Lord of Galaxy 27-Feb-19 10:03 AM
Ok
marhjo 27-Feb-19 10:03 AM
I do not want to make both inspecting and killing cost 1 soul
Lord of Galaxy 27-Feb-19 10:03 AM
But I seriously want the devil to be able to choose wager target on day 0
It would be just half a day extra, but it counts a lot
And perhaps have the buff Vyryn mentions
Telling the devil the role of the target
Or alternatively just give the devil a soul to start off with
dayy 27-Feb-19 10:05 AM
Protecting is a good idea but does it work like Bodyguard hex?
Hex4Nova 27-Feb-19 10:06 AM
what?
what suggestion are you talking about
dayy 27-Feb-19 10:06 AM
devil
marhjo 27-Feb-19 10:07 AM
Protecting with souls has always been a feature too...
Killing with souls too...
Lord of Galaxy 27-Feb-19 12:11 PM
yeah...
Only souls are hard to get...
Hex4Nova 27-Feb-19 12:17 PM
(m-my suggestion)
Lord of Galaxy 27-Feb-19 12:19 PM
@Hex4Nova while it is a good suggestion, I'm not sure if it can be done without at least 40 players
Hex4Nova 27-Feb-19 12:19 PM
like I said you don't have to look at the whole thing
for example, I think the harvester could be a possible, perhaps somewhat unbalanced solution to the soul issue (edited)
Lord of Galaxy 27-Feb-19 12:21 PM
of course, whisperer can't work
I particularly like the agent, only it needs a large underworld faction (edited)
My proposal: give the devil a wingman
Having a teammate is also enough for vastly improving the devil's situation
That's the simplest to implement
WhyThough 28-Feb-19 07:54 PM
@Lord of Galaxy there's a demon already

Psychopath is pointless
SuperbWolfPack 10-Mar-19 06:05 AM
^
Vyryn 10-Mar-19 07:52 AM
Disagree
As for the issue of everyone jumping on board with the vamp, it shouldn't be such an issue in future games. Point scoring system already gives undead as little has half the number of points other roles get. This makes dying for your team almost as worthwhile as going over to the vamps, and winning alive on your team much more worthwhile. Of course, this is assuming we start using the point scoring system and even so it'll probably take a few games for people to start understanding this.
TheKingslayer 10-Mar-19 09:40 AM
Exactly
Lord of Galaxy 10-Mar-19 11:12 AM
That would make vampire even harder, and will encourage people who turn undead to simply lose interest
Imagine your team is playing well and it looks like you're gonna win, but then you turn undead
See the underworld chat once
Choco was about to competely give up once he turned undead
If we use the point system and the undead have very few points, then anyone who turns undead has no incentive for actually helping the vampire
ubq323 10-Mar-19 11:14 AM
^
Lord of Galaxy 10-Mar-19 11:14 AM
So I strongly disagree
Besides, you have to recognise the fact that early undead is actually harder than later
Look at the risk for undead at different stages of the game
Choco was really high risk
Bonzo and I were lower but still under risk
Everyone else pretty much simply turned over without risk
CarrotPlayz 10-Mar-19 01:15 PM
Lookout role that can see who went to someone’s house each night (edited)
SuperbWolfPack 10-Mar-19 01:43 PM
That’s pretty op
The undead get less points if fair
Tea 10-Mar-19 01:45 PM
What about every two nights
Or it can be every night but theres only a 75% chance you'll get their true role
SuperbWolfPack 10-Mar-19 01:46 PM
Yeah something that balances it out
Tea 10-Mar-19 01:47 PM
And the percentage could change every time they went to someone else's house
SuperbWolfPack 10-Mar-19 01:47 PM
And @Tea needs to have gold
CarrotPlayz 10-Mar-19 01:49 PM
It doesn’t tell you their role
Only who went to whoever’s house you choose to look
Lord of Galaxy 10-Mar-19 02:13 PM
Whenever there is a "chance", the role becomes useless
Arch 10-Mar-19 03:46 PM
Well basically that role becomes a confirmed safe since visited can confirm so
Makes it kinda unbalanced since towns people can coordinate much easily?
Vyryn 11-Mar-19 01:37 AM
@Lord of Galaxy it still works out to more than half. Here, I'll give you some numbers. An innocent has a difficulty rating of 5, while undead has a difficulty rating of 2. This means if you win as an innocent, you get 15 points pre-normalization, while if you win as undead you get 12 points pre-normalization. If you died as innocent but the innocent team won in the end, you get 7.5 points pre-normalization. If the maximum number of points that game were awarded to the vamp (diff. 9) or the cupid (diff. 7) that game (depending which team won), then: As a live innocent, you get 8.8 points As a dead innocent, if the innocents win, you get 4.4 points As a live undead, if the undead win, you get 6.3 points As a dead innocent, if the innocents lose, you get 0.9 points As a dead undead, if the undead win, you get 3.2 points So you see there is always incentive to win over not win, and to survive over not survive and to stick to your team unless you can see your team is badly losing.
Lord of Galaxy 11-Mar-19 05:29 AM
As long as turning undead and then winning as undead is higher than a death win for whatever your original role is, I'm fine. The problem arises when you're in a situation where you'd have gained more if you had died than if you had turned undead
That is enough to drive you to boredom and sadness and simply ignore the game, as you've actually lost out by turning undead
In the example you gave, a live win for undead counts as better than a death win for innocent. The question is, will that apply to all the roles out there?
There's also the fact that the point system is innately flawed anyways, since it is hard to determine which role is really the hardest to play
Think about it, an innocent can often be harder to play than, say, a crowd seeker, especially as you'll be considered disposable by all other innocent team members
Vyryn 11-Mar-19 05:36 AM
Yes, an undead win being worth more than a team win is guaranteed to apply to all roles out there. For extremely tough roles like White Werewolf, they are closer to the same, but any live win is always worth more points than any dead win due to the nature of the math.
There's also the fact that the point system is innately flawed anyways, since it is hard to determine which role is really the hardest to play Think about it, an innocent can often be harder to play than, say, a crowd seeker, especially as you'll be considered disposable by all other innocent team members
Could you further explain what you mean by this?
Lord of Galaxy 11-Mar-19 05:38 AM
Ok then I have no problem. As long as a live win trumps a death win, I am fine
Also, I'll explain in a bit, I GTG now
Regicide 11-Mar-19 08:06 AM
I propose a new role:
Skarbrand the Destroyer. Kills two people each night, wins as solo. Can only be killed by priest or daily lynch. Otherwise immune to night effects, including the Tanner.

What I mean is that it's not really possible to assign a fixed number to each role, since the difficulty of roles depends on the exact situation and role distribution

Vyryn 12-Mar-19 03:46 AM
@Lord of Galaxy I've factored that in. While it's definitely not perfect, normalizing about the max score makes the per-game weighting of a given role vary according to how "impressive" the win was
Perhaps you might be better served inquiring as to the details before dismissing something entirely?

Every night, you may kidnap a player inside your kingdom, thus preventing them to talk in any channel but his own (the role command channel). The hostage cannot make new ccs either. You will present him a question about a certain player's role. If he answers correctly, he lives. If he answers wrongly, he dies. You will win if five players die from answering wrong, but you will lose and die if three players answer correctly.`

Role: Donald Trump Alignment: Neutral You are the president. You start off as a townie who wants it to be great. Every night, you can build a wall around a player to prevent all kills and visits (Including hooker visit, pyromancer powder, assassin kill etc etc). You cannot build a wall around yourself. However, if you get elected as the mayor, reporter, or guardian, you will thirst for more power, become wolfsided and can only win with wolves. Special trait: The votes against DT are strengthened +3. Say that DT gets 5 votes and another player gets 7 votes in a lynch vote. DT gets lynched instead because it counts as 8 players
(edited)
^the person who gets their wall built did not know they have wall around them
Lord of Galaxy 14-Apr-19 06:35 PM
That's not really neutral
That's a different concept
I called it chameleon
Also, adding three votes to him everywhere is a bit sad because there's a high chance he'll get lynched
Overall, I'm not a fan of that role
The Big Gay 14-Apr-19 10:53 PM
I think it would be fun to play with, though the +3 lynch thing seems op

Vyryn 20-Apr-19 05:45 AM
While I get it's the theme of the role, why does the suggested stone collecting role need to kill people as they win? Why not rename it, say, stone collector, and just have them win when they collect 7 stones, and not kill anyone at that point? (or, better yet, adjust the number of stones needed depending on the size of the game, ex floor(sqrt(n)+1) where n is the number of players in that game)
souless_2nd 20-Apr-19 05:48 AM
You try to over complicate the roles too much
Vyryn 20-Apr-19 06:15 AM

Updated suggestion below, ignore this one! Technician Side: Innocent Every night the technician may choose a player's house to booby-trap, and a trap to plant there. The stats of each trap and how many per game the technician is granted are below note: might be op, data has not been tested Makeshift Trap (3):
(May need some tweaking) a 60% chance of nothing happening at all a 35% chance of being unable to use their ability the following cycle a 5% chance of dying
Asphyxiating Gas Trap (2):
(May need some tweaking) a 10% chance of nothing happening at all a 70% chance of being unable to use their ability the following cycle a 20% chance of dying
Poison Arrow Trap (1):
(May need some tweaking) a 10% chance of nothing happening at all a 20% chance of being unable to use their ability the following cycle a 70% chance of dying
Regular Trap (2)
(May need some tweaking) a 20% chance of nothing happening at all a 40% chance of being unable to use their ability the following cycle a 40% chance of dying
Important note, as I said, the above role may well be incredibly OP and inevitably percentages and trap counts will need to be modified Brainiac Side: Wolf The brainiac is the counter to the Technician role - it's ability, which has an instant effect, is to choose a player and disarm any traps placed in their house, rendering the traps useless. Twice per game, it can also choose any player and boost their ability by 100% - So, for example, a warlock would get to choose two players that night

BenTechy66 27-Apr-19 12:23 PM
I think for this role it could work well though
but in that case, just reduce the amount of traps and give them a 100% chance of working
and then you can remove the makeshift traps bc the whole idea was that they had less chance of working
BenTechy66 27-Apr-19 12:45 PM
Technician Side: Innocent Every night the technician may choose a player's house to booby-trap, and a trap to plant there. Should someone try to attack, the attack will be nullified and the effect of the trap unleashed on them. The stats of each trap and how many per game the technician is granted are below. For this revision, random chance has been removed, more abilities have been added and Brainiac has been balanced out a bit. note: might be op, data has not been tested Makeshift Trap (2):
- (May need some tweaking) + The victim will be so addled by the trap that they are unable to use their ability the following cycle.
Asphyxiating Gas Trap (3):
- (May need some tweaking) + The victim will be unable to cast votes the following cycle, as when they try to speak to place their vote they cannot due to the gas making them cough. (Note however that they can still speak in public / conspiracy channels)
Poison Arrow Trap (2):
- (May need some tweaking) + The victim will die the following cycle, but their attempted kill will still go through and they can still speak in channels for the remainder of their life.
Death Trap (1) [Needs a better name]
- (May need some tweaking) + Instantly kills the victim.
Twice per game, it can also choose any player and boost their ability by 100% - So, for example, a warlock would get to choose two players that night. Thrice per game, it can also choose to undo the effects of any of the non-instant-death traps while the victim is still alive.

@Lord of Galaxy normally im also against Random chance, but here? It adds a little uncertainty, and adds a little more emotion
ubq323 27-Apr-19 08:46 PM
I disagree
The idea of a game like this is that everything should be a consequence of player actions
if you've got a cool plan but then some dumb random event ruins it, that's quite different from if it was defeated because of another player's skill
HurricanKai 27-Apr-19 08:47 PM
its not a random event, it's a thing someone planted, and forces you to be a little flexible with your plan
BenTechy66 27-Apr-19 09:13 PM
Kai does have a point
Vyryn 28-Apr-19 12:03 AM
The rework is an interesting role. The original is definitely overkill on random chance. Unfortunately, I don't think it's really simple enough to use in a game. IMO the devil is too complex, and this role is at least that complex.
HurricanKai 28-Apr-19 12:12 AM
imo we should at least try out a game with more complex possibilities. Maybe I'll make a program some time that creates a Tree of all the possiblities, cause i feel like the tree is often very, very, predictable, especially if you know at least one teams doings
BenTechy66 28-Apr-19 12:44 AM
Hmm yeah you might have a point Kai
Simple roles are great for beginners but for games to be interesting we need complex ones too
Perhaps, and I'm not sure if this is a good idea, we should apply some bias to role selection so newer users get easier roles
Vyryn 28-Apr-19 02:01 AM
It's been suggested several times. But doing it well yet still fairly is not a straightforward process.
Lord of Galaxy 28-Apr-19 06:43 AM

Arch 28-Apr-19 07:01 AM
Role: Sly Businessman Alignment: Neutral (Solo-killing) In the beginning of the game, you will be given a number of credits (for example:

The killing (night) should cost around 10 credits You can barricade your home (night) for 10 credits You can day kill for 20 credits (should be more expensive than nightkill) You can nullify someone's vote (day) for 8 credits You can disable someone's night command for 15 credits, etc Additionally, you may earn some (10) credits if you guess who's dying correctly at nighttime (outside of your own kill)

Lord of Galaxy 28-Apr-19 09:15 AM
Agreed
HurricanKai 28-Apr-19 10:22 AM
It's interesting, but very complicated, and a role that relies on correctly guessing death but has no way of getting info besides the normal ones, is very difficult, on the other hand this role has such a large claimspace, you can claim anything...
That last one is a thing I really want to see, because currently there is no such role, the room is usually really small, and you can quickly rule out things. It could be interesting if that wasn't as possible
BenTechy66 28-Apr-19 10:55 AM
The thing with my trapper role, once you take out random events and look at the revised version, it could be very interesting to see a game play out with it

ehhhhhhhhhh
souless_2nd 07-May-19 01:13 PM

marhjo 07-May-19 01:17 PM
It would require rework of death mechanic
souless_2nd 07-May-19 01:19 PM

It would be simply a rework on the reading permission on all of the ccs
The Big Gay 07-May-19 01:26 PM
You could make it so that they can still see the CCs but they only get a small period time to do it and the can spell it with reactions; like a ouija board
Or the master can suggest letters
marhjo 07-May-19 01:38 PM
No, it would be a rework of how everyone dies, and then dead people won't be able to see channels anymore.
We wouldn't even be able to reveal to the dead how they died and such.
I will think of something
The Big Gay 07-May-19 03:29 PM
Ok
alwin1234567 07-May-19 03:57 PM
You could make it that you have 12 hours to talk to the people that died and after that their spirits float away and you can't talk to them anymore (and the dead will see all chats)
The Big Gay 07-May-19 04:18 PM
That might work
Vyryn 07-May-19 09:13 PM
So there's a "half dead" phase, a different "dead" phase, and a different again spectator?
The Big Gay 07-May-19 09:16 PM
Possibly or, as soon as you die you can choose whether you want to become a free spirit (die properly and see the CCs but not able to talk to the ouija master) or stay half dead and not be able to see the CCs but able to talk to the ouija master
Vyryn 07-May-19 09:23 PM
That would be exactly the death mechanic rework marhjo was talking about. Different people will have different motives for choosing one or the other, and they would have to me taken into account when deciding what info can be shared between the dead, the details of the ouija role, etc etc.
HurricanKai 08-May-19 06:21 PM
tbh i like the idea of the master suggestion letters
(yes I'm reading this now, just got back from my last final 🎉)
that way the dead may still know everything
but the master has to be smart about it
XGN glaive120 10-May-19 03:29 AM
how about someone that can change what two people roles appear as from reporter for either the whole game or nightly if they die?

I have an elected role suggestion. I've suggested it before: DETECTIVE Elected Role Is told which role (in case of, say, devil)/group (in case of werewolf, cult etc) killed every person Counterpart of the Reporter
TheKingslayer 13-May-19 06:58 AM
🤔
but the thing is we barely reach the guardian
Lord of Galaxy 13-May-19 07:04 AM
Lol
Yeah
Topkinsme 13-May-19 07:10 AM
True
I do like the role though
We could switch out any one of the elected roles for this (edited)
We could have a detective instead of a reported and give a person the role of reporter (edited)
or announce it in story time
Lord of Galaxy 13-May-19 07:33 AM
Or have two polls at the same time
For reporter and detective
Topkinsme 13-May-19 07:33 AM
Alright sure
Lord of Galaxy 13-May-19 07:33 AM
Or, and I kinda like this even though it makes Mayor OP - let the Mayor appoint the detective

Nope
Mayor is op as he is

But then the mystery of the trinity roles will never happen BigThink
Topkinsme 13-May-19 08:52 AM

Lord of Galaxy 14-May-19 06:49 PM
Yeah, the second one I had suggested at one point of time
The first, that's very unlikely to happen anyways
marhjo 14-May-19 06:50 PM

Investigator:-(town) Is allowed to know the role of a dead person 3 times in a game. He then loses his power (edited)
VoidMist 23-May-19 08:32 PM
So three-shot reporter
💥 7
Alice Howlter 23-May-19 08:53 PM
but then the investigator becomes kinda useless when the reporter comes into play
you could maybe add that the investigator can check a dead person and knows how that person died and what his role was
WhyThough 23-May-19 09:47 PM
this is good if reporter turns out to be wolf and can call out reporter scum if their result doesn't match with what reporter says
but we don't need a wolf nerf
Randium 23-May-19 11:07 PM
Wouldn't mean that role shouldn't be a thing, however.
McTsts 23-May-19 11:08 PM
To be honest Coroner already does that in a way. If someone supposedly was 'Werewolf' but the Coroner sees that they were killed by the Werewolves it already exposes the Reporter
XGN glaive120 23-May-19 11:13 PM
and if the coroner dies that possibility is lost for the rest of the game
McTsts 23-May-19 11:13 PM
That's the same for the Investigator
If a role dies, they are dead. You're right.
Maybe we should remove dying!
Vyryn 23-May-19 11:14 PM
Receptionist also does it somewhat
McTsts 23-May-19 11:14 PM
Ah yeah, good point.
Yeah between Receptionist & Coroner I think there's enough roles to have something against a wolf reporter
XGN glaive120 23-May-19 11:15 PM
im raising my point from earlier ts i think that coroner should be an elect role
Topkinsme 28-May-19 04:55 PM

IRL the bg does what Nurse should do in this server (edited)
McTsts 28-May-19 11:31 PM
It nerfs Werewolves, isn't original, doesn't add anything new to the game (protections can already be done via Soul/Hooker), it buffs the strongest team, protecting right now is a flawed concept already anyway
WhyThough 28-May-19 11:31 PM
okay let's make wolves more powerful then
Fl1nt5t0n3 28-May-19 11:31 PM

McTsts 28-May-19 11:33 PM
I don't see how this is relevant
Fl1nt5t0n3 28-May-19 11:33 PM
I just wanted to throw this in
But because town is so op ww should have at least a protector on their team during the night
Or for the day
McTsts 28-May-19 11:34 PM
We have Scared Wolf
Which already isn't that relevant
Fl1nt5t0n3 28-May-19 11:34 PM
He runs 1x
McTsts 28-May-19 11:34 PM
And even that 1x isn't that helpful
Fl1nt5t0n3 28-May-19 11:34 PM
Yep
McTsts 28-May-19 11:34 PM
Because wolves often get lynched
Having a wolf team role that can affect lynch would be way more appropriate and helpful
Fl1nt5t0n3 28-May-19 11:34 PM
The Nurse could keep the ww alive for every kill except Lynch
McTsts 28-May-19 11:35 PM
It seems like a very random role for wolf team
As I said I'm quite sure a role that affects lynching would be way more helpful for wolf team
The town team has at least 3 after all
Fl1nt5t0n3 28-May-19 11:36 PM
Or a Hypno wolf where the effected person has to do whatever the hypno wolf sais
McTsts 28-May-19 11:36 PM
(Royal Knight to cancel lynch, Grandma to modify vote values, Stalker to add invisible votes)
How is that even supposed to work? 🤔
WhyThough 28-May-19 11:37 PM
ts if you can't possibly imagine a wolf in a nurse outfit
Fl1nt5t0n3 28-May-19 11:37 PM
lol
It should be like the Flute player but it is a one day/time effect where the wolf decides what the person should say and the victim is not allowed to talk about this
McTsts 28-May-19 11:39 PM
That seems incredibly not fun
