The math should just be 3 of the same outcomes / total outcomes
so there are 26 outcomes with the same 3 letters
and 26 * 26 * 26 total outcomes

I've just checked 500k polls, 230000 of which were 3 characters long, 366 with just three characters that are all the same. So a 0.16% chance.

the middle character has something with "a"
that might increase it's chance of being a
middle character seems to have a 28% chance of being a..?
this scales with the polls
I've only been checking the first 50 polls
in the first 500k polls the chance goes down to 6%, but that's not really relevant since we rarely go further than the first 50 polls
though even those 6% are still significantly more than it should be
I feel like this would mean that bbb is rare than expected
in 500k polls (10k of each of the first 50) I'm getting only 8 bbb's
A 0.0016% chance then
