It will execute normally. If it is a pack leader, they will be removed and the second-longest member of the pack (a pack elder) will take over: The pack will be renamed. E.g. if it happened to you, but Sharl stayed, it'd be called "Sharl's pack" and Sharl would be the new pack leader. Pack disbanding only happens with the "attack" action. (edited)

The pack leader is more a position for points than it is like a dedicated power role. The pack leader can be recruited out and the pack will continue existing, for example.
