Basics

Upon every death, the Coroner is informed how that participant died.

Details

The Coroner will be told the cause of death for every dead player; however, if multiple causes of death are present, only a single, arbitrary cause will be revealed to the Coroner. The Coroner is told the name of role that killed the player (if applicable) and the type of death (this can be either “attack”, “kill”, “lynch” or “true kill”), as well as the name (but not the role) of the player that died. The Coroner is not affected by any disguises.

attacks and kills mean slightly different things but are functionally very similar. attacks are deaths that can be avoided through protections - most night kills fall in this category. kills are deaths where in some cases even if you have protection you are not protected, and may include suicide deaths as well. I believe soul kills would be kills and wager deaths would be attacks but the rulebook isn't super clear on that

Coroner gets info for all deaths, if someone is "killed twice" it would get info for only one of those kills (presumably whichever the bot executes first)
