Day 0 | A Canine Competition In the years that Werewolves has been going on we've come to realise that the regular common-or-garden wolf mascot is a bit boring. No longer! We're entering Season 16 with our minds set on picking a new canine to represent this server. We've chosen the finest dogs we could find and over the course of this game we will determine who is truly the goodest boy. @Participant

Night 1 Fun fact! Did you know that @DMWs play dead when threatened, similarly to opossums? Maybe this means they could be an appropriate mascot for this server, given the main theme is, of course, dying. We'll see tonight after our first judging happens! @Participant

Day 1 Fun fact! Did you know that the @Sechuran Fox, also known as the Peruvian desert fox, can shift to a completely vegetarian diet unlike most other canids and go long periods of water, allowing it to inhabit the sparse and trying conditions of the South American desert biome? Such a resilient and enduring canine is appropriate as a mascot for this server, given how long it has stayed alive despite the challenges it has faced. The @Domestic Dog has been deemed unnoteworthy and not spectacular enough to be considered as our new mascot. Domestic dog? Blegh. Well, perhaps it is for the better. Now, elect a particularly suitable candidate for our new mascot as @Mayor! @Participant @Mentor

Night 2 Fun fact! The @Hoary Fox is insectivorous and endemic to Brazil, and is also not a fox but rather part of a group of fox-like canines called zorros. I guess everyone loved the @DMW fun fact earlier, because the @DMW was chosen as a top contender for position of best canine. They are very cute, to be fair. Someone in the crowd doesn't seem too happy though, because I'm hearing a really loud howl... TL;DR: @DMW is elected as @Mayor. A Howling Wolf has cried. @Participant @Mentor

Day 2 Fun fact! The @Island Fox are the smallest fox species in North America, are generally tame and docile, and descend from gray foxes that were possibly brought to the Channel Islands by humans thousands of years ago. Perhaps the Island fox is an apt choice of mascot? Figure it out by voting on today's @Mayor poll! I can tell you who isn't suited to be a mascot: @Golden jackal & @Algonquin Wolf - perhaps the golden jackal and the Algonquin wolf are just a bit too similar to the wolf that we are trying to replace. Oh well. NOTE: @Golden jackal & @Algonquin Wolf died; we are voting for a @Mayor today! And give me a second to fix the poll before voting. (edited)

Mid-Day 2 Hear ye, hear ye! Evolution has arrived. @Darwin's fox has subbed in for @Unknown. Did you know that Darwin's fox was first collected by none other than Charles Darwin off of an island of Chile? Actually, you probably did, because it's quite obvious from the name. Oh well, either way, Darwin's fox has the potential to become our server mascot! There are less than 1,000 mature individuals in the wild, so we can be happy that we are graced by its presence in such a trying time. @Participant @Mentor

Night 3 Fun fact! The @Sechuran Fox can survive on an entirely herbivorous diet and often eats seed pods and fruits. Unfortunately, there is simply too much violence and murder in Werewolves for such a peaceful creature to be our mascot. @Pampas Fox on the other hand eats plenty of meat, and therefore is very much still a contender for best canine. Day 3 Fun fact! The @African Wild Dog 'sneezes' to let other pack members know that it's time to depart for a hunt. While very cool, we can't really have a sick dog as our mascot, now can we? The @Gray Fox is perhaps too opposite to our former wolf mascot for them to be suitable. Out they go! Instead, we can elect a @Reporter as a potential favorite to be our new mascot. Get voting! Oh, and of course we'll lynch another unsuitable mascot today. @Participant @Mentor

Night 4 Fun fact! @Bush Dogs are incredibly elusive and poorly studied despite occupying a fairly large area in South America. The one we have entered in the competition ran away and we can't find it, oops. The @Island Fox is also extremely cute and adorable, however it is also very small weighing only 1-2 kilograms, and we just think a more imposing creature is better to represent our game. And despite not being an actual fox, everyone still loves the @Pampas Fox and gave it the job of tracking who's winning the competition, despite not having opposable thumbs. Night 5 Wow guys. Wow. Someone opened the pen containing all our competitors, and the @Hoary Fox , @Culpeo, @Fennec Fox and @Coyote all ran away. Great jobs guys. Who decided that was a good idea? Well, if we can't have a @Fennec Fox, I guess a @Cape Fox will have to do to replace it. They also have big ears and devious expressions, perfect for the mascot of a social deduction game. Night 6 Fun fact! The loberia, or wolf apple, is a fruit closely related to tomatoes that accounts for more than half of the @Maned Wolf's diet. Given that it's pride month, we'd quite like a fruity wolf to represent our server. TL;DR: @Maned Wolf is @Mayor. No one was lynched. @Participant

End Game In the end it turned out that quite a lot of people were rooting for the old classic - the @Gray Wolf to maintain the crown as the mascot of the server. However, if that had happened it would have made this entire week pointless, so good thing everyone came to their senses and voted the @Darwin's fox as the best canine! It's also endangered, living only in a small range of habitat in Chile, so we're also getting the word out there about wildlife conservation. In our game about...killing wolves... @Participant @Dead Participant In honour of our final live winner @Darwin's fox, we have updated the server icon to reflect our change in mascotship! Werewolves win!
