Every night, the Marble Hatchet can select two aquatic lifes and see if they have the same alignment as each other. Each aquatic life can only be selected once.

Each night, the Marble Hatchet can inspect two aquatic lifes. The Marble Hatchet will be told whether they have the same alignment. The Marble Hatchet can select itself as one of the two aquatic lifes, but can only select each aquatic life once throughout the game. Inspecting aquatic lifes is an immediate ability. Nonaligned species have the same alignment as each other: species with differing alignments do not. A nonaligned species does not have the same alignment as an aligned species. Some rare aquatic life species may gain alignments during the game (e.g. Golden Guppy). The Marble Hatchet is not affected by disguises, but is affected by redirections.
