It depends how long they have had it, people who have been infected will die after 2 nights so if you get 3 people have it, 2 nights later you can then expect to see some deaths
4 players should get the message tonight according to this as long as those 4 are still alive

Four people infected by the end of Night 1 means four people dying by the end of Night 3, presuming none have died or been exorcised. Note that you learn about exorcisms.
Also, NOT RELEVANT FOR THIS PARTICULAR EXAMPLE, note that 'by the end of Night 3' could actually mean some deaths occur Night 2, because if anyone was contaminated on Day 0 then you'd be informed at the end of Night 1, but Night 2 would be the second night of infection for them.
