The Herald selects a role and is informed when the last player who had the role at the time of selection dies.
Details
The Herald may select a role each phase, marking all players that currently have the role. This is not a visit. When the last marked players dies, the Herald is informed. A player remains marked until they die or the Herald selects another role.
If several players die at the same time the Herald is not informed which of the players had their selected role.
The Herald does not know which players they are marking.
The Herald is not affected by any disguises or redirections.

I can start with a quick introduction to some of the important roles in this game if you'd like, or anything else you wanna ask

Cool cool! Let me summarise the roles for you here:
Citizen, Herald, Amnesiac
These are town roles that aren't particularly strong. They exist so that scum roles (the wolves and the vampires) can claim them without getting caught out too easily.
Assassin, Fortune Teller
These are the strong town roles that can find and kill the scum most easily.
Butchers and Bloody Butcher
The butchers are town and the bloody butcher is a wolf. They all know each other and have a private channel together. There'll probably be a lot of discuss about them today and tomorrow, because the bloody butcher can only be deduced by their behaviour - they're immune to the fortune teller (scum finding role).
Scared Wolf, Pack Tanner, Wolf Cub
Alongside the Bloody Butcher, these are all the roles in the wolfpack. The wolfpack are the ones who kill a player every night.
Clairvoyant Fox
The CF doesn't start in the pack, but can join it. When they're not in the pack, they can invest players like the fortune teller does
Vampire and Exorcist
Vampires "demonise" players at night. If demonised players are attacked, they turn undead and join the vampire team. Exorcist is a town role that can un-demonise players - but if they've turned undead already, it's too late.
Cupid
The cupid falls in love with someone at the start of the game and joins their team.
There are three teams in this game - town, wolves, vampires - which are all competing against each other. Only one of the teams can win.
Psychopath
The psychopath has a special win condition which it can achieve no matter which team wins (it's unaligned, i.e. not aligned to any of the teams). It has to get a bunch of players killed, but it can't kill them itself : it has to convince other teams and players to kill them, essentially.

You can look any role up by doing ;rolename, e.g. ;herald, to find out more details

You can change your target every phase, if you'd ever like to

But you don't need to!

It might be helpful if I briefly explain investigations and disguises:
The investigating roles in this game - fortune teller, clairvoyant fox, and psychopath - all look at roles. They choose a player and get told what role they have. If they chose you, they'd be told you're a herald, for example.
There are three disguising roles in this game too. The bloody butcher (the butcher that's a wolf) is permanently disguised as a normal town butcher. The pack tanner and the psychopath can disguise other players. If a pack tanner disguised you as wolf cub, for example, and then the fortune teller investigated you, they'd be told you were wolf cub. However, these disguises are temporary: they only last a couple of phases.
The psychopath will mostly disguise other players, to make them look suspicious and get them killed. The pack tanner will mostly disguise other members of the wolfpack, to make them look safe to town and prevent them from being killed.
