Basics

Each night, the Lone Wolf may attack one player. When the first member of the wolfpack dies, the Lone Wolf joins the wolfpack.

Details

The Lone Wolf doesn’t know the other werewolves, and starts off all alone; they are not a member of the wolfpack. However, they are still a lycan. Each night, they may target one player. If their target is townsfolk aligned, the Lone Wolf attacks them. If they are wolfish, the Lone Wolf dies (not an attack). If they are neither, the target isn't attacked and both the Lone Wolf and the target live. When a member of the wolfpack dies, the Lone Wolf loses their powers and joins the wolfpack as a wolf. Attacking a player is an end-night ability.

They seem to be playing and trying to gather a lot of information plus I was told that somebody claimed priest to them there must have been a good reason for it I think there's a pretty good chance that they are town

For whispers channels, your message gets copied over to the channel that in this case the corrupt wolf only can see

Doom

Dooming a player is an immediate effect. Each Horseman type will apply a different effect when dooming. When a Horseman attempts to doom another Horseman, it fails: the two Horsemen unite, joining a shared channel. Doomed players are informed that they have been doomed, but not which Horseman doomed them. Doomed players can be doomed again by the same or a different Horseman. Dooming and its accompanying effect will immediately disappear when no Horsemen remain. When all remaining Horsemen are united and all remaining aligned players doomed, Doomsday is unleashed: Each living Horseman turns into an Apocalyptic Horseman, with the ability to attack a player each night.

It's a strategy to keep the horseman from gaining information. Their goal is to doom everyone, but if they don't know who's doomed because it's not revealed publically, they may doom the same person twice, essentially wasting a doom.
