Icarus's lament
They committed a godly crime,
The angel wept blood, gazing at the sky.
"God, please save their souls,"
She cried, her voice echoing cold.
They despised the angel's grace,
Blind to their own disgrace.
They met her crimson eyes,
Finding only blood and cries.
"Oh, angel, what are you?"
She looked to the heavens blue.
Blood and tears streaked the night,
Painting the sky in crimson light.
The wolves smelled flesh and death,
Racing forth with bated breath.
Civilians cowered, pleading for aid,
But the angel soared, her voice a blade.
"You disgraced yourselves this day,
Killing innocents in your fray.
God commanded me to end you all,
But mercy stayed my vengeful call."
With a whisper, she summoned flame,
A weapon born, a god’s own name.
"Fire God rests, but hear my plea:
Burn these sinners, set them free."
Mad with fear, they raised their swords,
Arrows flew, harsh and unmoored.
Yet the angel faced the sky,
Choosing to fall, so all may die.
In that moment, death did sing,
Wings aflame, a crimson ring.
The sky wept red, the earth stood still,
And silence crowned her final will.
But what did the angel do, they said,
She sacrificed, yet sin's not dead.
A hero waits, unseen, unknown,
A shadowed path they walk alone.
The wolves still prowl, the flames still burn,
The fire god waits for one to turn.
The end will come, the skies will fall,
When secret hands unleash it all.
As the angel falls, the sinner dies
