Werewolves Revamped - story

Day 0 | A New Dawn Light cascades down through canopies of overgrown rooftop gardens and cracked walkways as the sun rises above the horizon, casting intricate patterns onto dulled stone and reclaimed wood. The scent of the herbs waft through the air and flowered paths cover the town like green veins. This once empty area will soon be repopulated, but who will be the ones to rebuild the remnants? @Participant

Night 1 | Settling Down The last of the mellow sunlight faded as the chill of night took its place. A few houses towards the centre of town were patched to make suitable living spaces, but bitter wind still slipped through the renovated walls. We'll have to patch up those holes later, but let's get back to the present. Cheerful lanterns flicker into existence to emanate a warm glow. It was time to settle down. Tomorrow. Tomorrow, the town will be a bit bigger and better for everyone. @Participant

Day 1 | Unstable Foundation A loud, rumbling sound resonates through the calm morning followed by piercing scream. A crowd had gathered around the origin of the noise. A wall had crumbled collapsed onto some sleeping bags, but thankfully the building was still standing. Thankfully, no one was under the wall when it happened. Those walls need to be fixed before someone gets hurt. TL;DR: No one died. Elect a new @Mayor (>15). @Participant

Mid-Midday 1 | Substitution @Pilkvist decided that this place wasn't for them and went off exploring by themselves. Coincidentally, @Alouette wandered into town looking for a place to stay. Night 2 | Sighing Trees Rebuilding the wall took the greater part of the morning. To ensure that the town was safe, everyone tasked @Hino to find why the wall had fallen. By late afternoon, it was clear that roots from ancient oaks nearby had weakened the building's foundation. The trees were a hazard to the town; they had to go. Waves of leaves cascaded down as their trunks chipped away. Animals scampered away and bird nests were brought down, but they can find other places to call home. Seeming like divine retribution, @Kameko was caught under a tree while it fell and was crushed to death. An unfortunate accident, we can't do anything more for them, but the survival of the town was more important than everything else, wasn't it? Day 2 | Disagreements As the night draws on, voices soaked in anger could be heard from one of the buildings. Some said that the trees didn't need to be cut down and the natural order was being disturbed, others arguing that it was for the betterment of the people. These back and forth mutterings rose in a crescendo until suddenly, they stopped. Come morning, @Kerr was found dead. Unrest stirred amongst the people. They need someone to find out what happened. Night 3 | Divisions Form At noon, @Pineda was chosen to investigate who had committed such a heinous crime against the town. However, a reporter wasn't even needed for what happened next. @Sadowski paraded through town shouting that what the town did was unacceptable. Man should not tamper with mother nature's gifts. Such heresy will not be tolerated; this idea can become dangerous if left to spread. @Sadowski was seized and taken away. No one knows where they went, but they were never seen in town again. TL;DR: @Sadowski was lynched and @Pineda was elected as @Reporter. @Participant

Day 3 | Tensions Rise An anxious atmosphere loomed across the town through the night. People tossed and turned in their sleep and unsettling noises echoed just outside the buildings. By morning, @Pineda and @Hino were found with their throats slit in their beds. People need to be comforted. We need a new mayor. Night 4 | Betrayal The pressure over the town persisted through the day. At dusk, everyone gathered at the centre of town to see @Elbio being announced as the new protector of the people, but that's when whispers started to grow. Suspicious glances were cast and disbelief crossed a few people's faces as the buzz of voices took up a life of its own. Without warning, a voice pierced through the murmur: "That WITCH was the one that killed @Hino!" The feeling of uncertainty from before transformed into one of anger and disgust and overtook the people. Hino was one of their own and no one can replace him. The people wanted retribution. Fuelled by their hatred, the crowd surged towards Elbio... TL;DR: @Elbio was lynched and no @Mayor (<=15) was elected. @Participant

Day 4 | Bitter Thoughts Forlorn weeps drifted from @Sandoval's room. So many people died in this skirmish for what? The town certainly didn't care for its people and neither do they care about the land anymore. These trials in the name of betterment had devolved into senseless killing, and Sandoval wanted to get away from all of it. The people were beyond bringing back to reason. Consumed by her sorrow, Sandoval didn't notice that a gust of wind had extinguished her lantern. The eerie noises of the wilderness outside grew louder as shadows danced on the walls. Quietly, silhouettes approached Sandoval. These silhouettes left as quickly as they came, and they took the weeping away. It took a little while for people to notice that @Sandoval and @Alouette were missing at breakfast. When they went to check, they found two lifeless bodies in the corner of a building seemingly to comforting each other in death. Did these people deserve to die? Night 5 | Temporary Governance The situation was getting out of hand. Frustrated that no one was doing anything to stop the killing, @Draek took up the responsibility that the people before have neglected. Draek started their investigation with the dead bodies of Sandoval and Alouette. The two had been moved to the edges of town to prevent the stench of decomposition from spreading through the buildings, but too many dead bodies showed up every day for anyone to find time to give burials. Inspecting the wounds closer, there was something eerily familiar about the incisions. Before arriving at the town, Draek along with some others had took up hunting to feed the people. @Kinryu was one of these hunters, and the slashes looked exactly like the ones that he would make! Shocked by what they found, Draek rushed back to town. With the evidence, everyone was only too happy to lynch Kinryu. The people were willing to do anything now to end the violence, even if it meant sacrificing their own. TL;DR: @Kinryu was lynched and @Draek was elected @Mayor (<=15) . @Participant

Day 5 | Wishful Thinking As @Draek settled in for the night, the future was looking positive for once. Maybe they will finally bring peace back to the town... or what's left of it. There were barely any people left to even call the place a town anymore, but still enough to support each other. Maybe they'll regain the unity that everyone strived for before. Dozing off with a smile on their face, that was the last thought they will ever have. When everyone got up the next day, they found bloody gashes blooming on Draek and @Dikla's throats with reds as bright as the poppies that grew outside. May they enjoy their everlasting peace while the rest continue suffering. TL;DR: @Dikla and @Draek died, elect a new @Mayor (<=15) . @Participant

Night 6 | Whittled Down There weren't many people left, but the people persisted. The last five huddled down for one of their last nights together by the centre of town and sat in silence. Although it seemed a bit pointless now, @Timin was chosen to be the last protector of the people. To fulfil their duty, they had built a big fire that was blazing away. The lanterns that everyone had taken with them to the village were now spread across the space, dispelling all of the shadows. It was as if the spirits of everyone that had passed were watching over them. May the night be peaceful. TL;DR: @Timin was elected as @Mayor (<=15) @Participant

Game End | Back to Nature

Genesis 3:19 @Timin stared off into nothingness. Spatters of ruby-red blood drenched his shirt and dripped off of the puukko in his hands. Numbness had started to set in but he was lost in his thoughts. How did this all start? Mother nature had staked its claim on this land and they were the impurities on it. No matter how much mother nature tried to accommodate them, it was never enough. They took and took and took, never thinking of the consequences of their greed. @Kameko had long dreamed of a day when the last people would disappear and the land would finally heal, and Timin came to see the light in his words. And now, he did it. @Kurosawa's body lay limp on the cold, hard dirt as the last vestiges of sunlight disappeared from view. A steady trickle came from her neck as a pool formed to stain the ground underneath. The wolves will come soon to finish her corpse, her body will decompose and nothing will be left behind. Tiredness washed over Timin as he finally let the puukko drop to the ground. There was no one left and nothing more to do. Maybe tomorrow he'll find another group of people and steer their path down the path of fate. Werewolves win! @Participant & @Dead Participant
