Help Christopher Robin - Winnie the Pooh OS12C Event

@Winnie the Pooh and their friends have taken it upon themselves to help @Christopher Robin complete his homework. Every phase, the @Creatures will get the chance to help solve @Christopher Robin’s homework in one specific subject. They will be able to submit an answer in their private role channels and will receive an equivalent grade. At the end of the game, we will tally the grade average for each player across all pieces of homework to find the most helpfulest @Creatures of the 100 Aker Wood! Please note that since you are only helping @Christopher Robin, participating in this event isn’t mandatory or game-related. Whilst not submitting an answer will automatically give you an F on that homework, it will have no in-game/real consequences! Still, dead players may continue to participate even after their death in-game if they want to. Homework questions will be published in here at phase change and you have until the following phase change to work on them! @Substitutes may also participate if they so wish!

Please note that grading occurs on a bell curve. This means that if everyone gets the same correct answer, we'll only be able to give an average grade. It thus might not be in your interest to share answers! (edited)

English homework - Rhetorical devices

Oh no @Creatures! Christopher Robin needs to submit his English homework by tomorrow at 12pm UTC! He’s learning about rhetorical devices. In the notorious 100 Aker Wood travel guide, which can be found in the story time, a slew of different rhetorical devices are hidden in plain sight! Christopher Robin needs all the help he can get identifying as many as possible. Rhetorical devices sound hard, you say? If you want, you can use the internet to research various types of rhetorical devices in English. Please submit a list with the rhetorical devices and in what quote they can be found in your private channel by 12PM UTC tomorrow. Note that there will only be one type of rhetorical device that’ll count - the point is finding as many unique rhetorical devices (i.e. you’ll only get 1 point even if you quote 2 metaphors)!

Once you have the list, please ping @Event Host and not the regular @Host, as that is reserved for strictly game-related actions!

Thank you for all submissions in helping Christopher Robin complete his English homework. Please note that even though the deadline has passed, you can still hand-in late (within this following phase) before the grading has been completed! This will affect your grade - however, it is certainly better than an automatic fail! A new homework assignment will be posted shortly.

Math homework - Map problem

@Creatures & @Ghost, it is well-known that aker is an alternate spelling of acre. For math class, Christopher Robin is told that the completely square map of the 100 Aker Wood hanging in his classroom has a side length of one yard. Christopher Robin is wondering how long 84 yards in the 100 Aker Wood, his favorite number and simultaneously the distance of Winnie the Pooh’s daily walk in search of honey, would be measured with his ruler on the classroom map? Assume the 100 Aker Wood lives true to its name. Give your answer to 3 significant figures and in an SI unit. Please submit your answer in your private channel and ping @Event Host by 10PM UTC tonight (for an on-time hand-in) or by 12PM UTC tomorrow (for a late hand-in)! You may show your working, though you are not required to do so.

Social studies homework - Disorder identification

@Creatures & @Ghost! Christopher Robin is tasked with writing a short psychological report on a mental disorder of his choice. It has long been speculated that the creatures of the 100 Aker Wood symbolize various mental health phenomena. The social studies’ teacher is requiring a report on one specific figure/creature of the Winnie the Pooh franchise, analyzing what mental health condition(s)/symptoms are characterized by this character’s behavior in the series. You are free to choose what character you do it on. You may research on the internet, however it will be checked for plagiarism and AI, which will lead to deflated grades - so try to use your own words if possible! The response will preferably be between 50-200 words. As always, you can submit by 12PM UTC tomorrow in your channel, or complete a late submission by 10PM UTC tomorrow evening! As always ping @Event Host with your submissions! Note: Remember that the most helpfulest player after this event will receive a token! So if that's something of interest to you, consider submitting an answer!

The answer for the math problem was 0.110 meters for all who'd like to know. Here is one way to solve for it:
Since the map is completely square, the side lengths must all be equal. Since the 100 Aker Wood lives true to its name, the square map must depict 100 acres = 10x10 acres. Supposing this, the side length the map depicts is 10 acres. If the side length of 1 acre is equivalent to 208.71 feet, then the side length depicted by the map is 2087.1 feet. 2087.1 feet are equivalent to 695.7 yards. If the side length of the classroom map is 1 yard and the side length depicted by the map is 695.7 yards, we have a ratio of 1:695,7 yards. However, we want to know x:84 yards. Thus, we must calculate 695.7 / y = 84 => 695.7 = 84 * y => 695.7 / 84 = y => y = approx. 8.28. Since we have effectively divided 695.7 by y to get 84, we conclude that 1 / y = x => 1 / 8.28 = x => approx. 0.121 = x. We have found that 0.121 yards on the paper map equals 84 yards on the map. However, the question requires the answer in SI units (meters). We find that 0.121 yards roughly equals 0.110 meters or 11 centimeters, which is rounded to three significant figures. Thus, we know that 0.110 meters (11cm) measured with Christopher Robin’s ruler on the paper map will be equivalent to a 84 yard-walk in the 100 Aker Wood.

Science homework - Biodiversity

Christopher Robin’s science teacher wants to do field work on biodiversity in the 100 Aker Wood. In order to do this, Christopher Robin must sample all @Creatures (all participants, dead or alive) of the 100 Aker Wood. Christopher Robin’s science teacher expects him to calculate the biodiversity index [biodiversity index = (number of unique species)/(number of all individuals)] of the @Creatures of 100 Aker Wood (by running the command $l you get a list of all @Creatures). The internet can be used to identify what species each creature belongs to and for any other parts of this assignment. For his response, Christopher Robin must: (1) quickly define biodiversity, (2) calculate the biodiversity index (see above for formula), (3) analyze whether the index appears to be high or low for the 100 Aker Wood, and finally (4) explain what possible benefits of the biodiversity level of the 100 Aker Wood may be. Can you help him? The expected response must not be long, as long as it attempts to answer the 4 criteria! @Ghost & @Creatures, you have until 10PM tonight for an on-time submission and until tomorrow at 12PM UTC for a late submission. As always, the social studies report can still be handed in until tonight. Good luck!

Art homework - Sketching

Christopher Robin has been asked to draw a creature from the 100 Aker Wood by his art teacher. The art teacher has put emphasis on the creative process and has put no real limitations to what type of sketch or what character must be depicted, as long as it is created by Christopher Robin himself! Since this is a monumental task, the art teacher has given Christopher Robin extra early notice in order to prepare himself. Draw, sketch or elsehow create a piece of art of any @Creatures of the 100 Aker Wood. The format doesn’t matter, as long as it is done by you and not copy-pasted off the internet. Since this task might take longer for some, you will have 24 hours (until 10PM UTC on Monday) to hand it in - this will be the only event task for the next two phases. It doesn’t have to be professional, just have fun! Your grade will be rated by teaching assistants (GMs & Hosts). As always, you still have until tomorrow at 12PM to hand in your science homework late. The social studies homework has been graded and grades will be handed out as we speak! Remember to ping @Event Host with your submissions.

It has come to my attention that you do not have image perms to send your art homework! To submit it, uploading it to imgur or a similar site and sharing the link likely works best.

you can also send it somewhere that you have image perms in discord, maybe to an alt account or a private server with just you in it, click the image then click copy link and paste the link in your secret channel If you don't want to make a new account for an image sharing site

Home economics - Meal Planning

@Creatures, Christopher Robin needs our help for his final homework assignment! His teacher wants him to draw up a meal plan for one meal. This meal could be breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It is important that the meal plan be balanced. The following requirements apply for your meal plan: (1) You must include Winnie the Pooh’s favorite, honey, in your meal. (2) All ingredients must be able to be found in the 100 Aker Wood (consider Rabbit’s vegetable patch, or food found in forests). You can use the map in #information to give you an overview. If it isn’t clear whether/ how that food can be found in the 100 Aker Wood, justify where/how it is found or made in your response! (3) You must incorporate 4 of the 5 following food groups: Carbohydrates, protein, dairy, fruits & vegetables, and fats & sugars to balance the meal and make it nutritious. (4) Give reasoning for why you chose the foods you did. You may use the internet to research. As always, ping @Event Host in your SC! You have until 12PM UTC tomorrow for a regular hand-in! The art homework can still be handed in as a late submission until tomorrow morning at 12PM UTC. So if you still want to get creative, get to it! Results will be posted sometime during tomorrow afternoon!

Help Christopher Robin! - Event End

@Creatures, @Dead Participants & @Ghosts, @Christopher Robin is very pleased with all the help he has gotten on his homework submissions! His grades have flourished with the support and he has become a straight-A student. Let’s take a look at who helped him the most in each subject. English: @Gopher received an A+ with 15.5 correct rhetorical devices! Math: @Winnie the Pooh received an A with the correct answer and form of 0.110 meters! Social studies: @Gopher received an A with an essay score of 100%! Science: @Gopher, @Winnie the Pooh, & @Piglet received As with report scores of 80%! Art: @Wooster the Woozle received an A with an average rating of 9/10! Home economics: @Gopher received an A with a percentage 83.9%! However, the most important metric to @Christopher Robin’s teachers is consistency. For this, we’ll take a look at those who didn’t miss a single submission: 6/6 submissions: @Gopher, @Winnie the Pooh, & @Piglet! They made sure to consistently help @Christopher Robin turn in homework - and they never handed in late either! Truly commendable.
13:05
Finally, and this is where the special token from @Christopher Robin’s school comes into play, we’ll reward those who consistently performed well at completing assignments and homework tasks, by calculating their grade point average over all assignments (assignments not handed in are equivalent to the grade F). The grade point scale goes from A = 1 to F = 5. 1. @Gopher with a final grade of A- and a GPA of 1.33 token 2. @Winnie the Pooh with a final grade of B+ and a GPA of 1.50 3. @Piglet with a final grade of B and a GPA of 1.72 4. @Wooster the Woozle with a final grade of D and a GPA of 3.89 5. @Queen Elizabeth II with a final grade of D- and a GPA of 4.33. Everyone else failed! @Christopher Robin is disappointed. Please join me in congratulating @Gopher for being the overall helpfulest @Creatures to @Christopher Robin’s homework! They have been given a special token. Finally, thank you to all submissions and participants of this event. The artwork will be posted shortly. (edited)
