Haunting is a gamemode in which you still play after dying.

Players that die, turn into ghosts ($i ghost) instead of completely dying. Ghosts can no longer talk in the normal channels, but can interact with other ghosts in a graveyard channel and through ccs. Ghosts have their own elections ($i ghost elections) and a lynch equivalent ($i banishment), however banishment only occurs when so decreed by an elected role. When a ghost is banished, they are fully eliminated and no longer participate in the game. In the Haunting gamemode, the reporter role is replaced by the gravekeeper ($i gravekeeper). A list of all roles exclusive to the Haunting gamemode can be found under $i haunted. Win conditions are unchanged in this mode - whatever team reaches their win condition among the living players wins.

A ghost is a player who has died, but is still playing. Their abilities to interact with the living players are limited, but unlike dead participants they are not completely eliminated.

Ghosts retain access to their original channels, but cannot write messages in them anymore (except for their own personal secret channel). By default, ghosts cannot use their role abilities anymore (unless specified otherwise). Ghosts can talk to each other in the graveyard and create new CCs with each other, but not with the living players.

The Gravekeeper may check the original roles of ghosts.

Each night, the Gravekeeper may check one ghost for their original role. They cannot check ghosts who have been banished. The roles given are always the role that player was originally assigned; a dog who chooses to become a fortune teller, then gets turned into an undead and finally dies will be shown to the Gravekeeper as 'dog'. The Gravekeeper is immune to disguises and redirections. The Gravekeeper is a replacement for the Reporter in haunting games and is elected on the first full day with a living Mayor and no living Gravekeeper. The Gravekeeper may resign at the end of any phase. The Gravekeeper gains an additional secret channel, which is reused for any subsequent Gravekeepers.

Similiarly to the living, the ghosts have three elections.

The three elected ghost roles are: Banisher, Poltergeist, Banshee. Each of these roles is elected when all previous positions are occupied. Unlike the elections of the living, the elections of the ghosts occur at night. Additionally, the ghost elections only occur when there are two or more ghosts.

Each day, the Banisher may decide whether a banishment will take place during the next night. There may not be banishments in successive nights.

The Banisher may choose to resign at any point during a phase, but will only lose the role at the end of the phase. Choosing a banishment is an immediate action. The Banisher gains an additional secret channel, which is reused for any subsequent Banishers.

Each day, the Poltergeist may decide whether to haunt the tavern in the next night.

The Poltergeist may choose to resign at any point during a phase, but will only lose the role at the end of the phase. Choosing to haunt the tavern is an end day action. If the Poltergeist choose to haunt the tavern, the tavern channel will be locked at the start of the night and it will be announced the tavern is haunted. Once the night ends, the haunting ends, and the tavern will be unlocked. While the Poltergeist is haunting the tavern, it is absent and will evade banishments (excluding the nightly banishment poll). Other roles which spend their night at the tavern (i.e. Alcoholic) must stay at home while the Poltergeist is haunting and are thus not absent. The Poltergeist gains an additional secret channel, which is reused for any subsequent Poltergeists.

Each day, the Banshee may select one player to haunt in the following night, ability blocking them.

The Banshee may choose to resign at any point during a phase, but will only lose the role at the end of the phase. Choosing a player to haunt is an immediate action. The Banshee may not choose to ability block the same player twice. The Banshee gains an additional secret channel, which is reused for any subsequent Banshees.

Every other night, Fenrir may banish one ghost. Fenrir may still do so while a ghost themself.

If they choose not to banish, they will once again have the option to banish in the following night. Banishing a ghost is an end-night ability. Fenrir is a member of the wolfpack and a lycan.
