What are grades? Like high quality and bootlegs/knockoffs?
that question is a doozy, but here's the lowdown:
the higher the grade, the higher the amount of detail, and in most cases they're also bigger.
most common grades in order of pricepoint and also complexity:
entry grade, super duper simple, barely requires any cleanup to build
high grade, there's a lot of models in this grade, and it's like, perfectly fine for a good-looking model. also the kind you'll find the most/best knockoffs of at aliexpress. they go for 15 to 30 euros, and they're 1/144 scale compared to "life size"
real grade, they're like high grade but much more detailed (you might find more parts in one limb just to separate the colors with different plastics, while in highgrade it might be with stickers on a base color), and they've got a lot of little movement gimmicks and great poseability, 144 scale, 20 to 60 euros
master grade, it's like real grade but the detail isn't as small and finnicky, though there should still be a good amount of it. while real grades sometimes come with these weird molded joints (like, they are moveable straight from the frame), master grades don't. you'll also find a lot of models in this grade, going back like 30 years or something. probably should get a newer one though, old ones sometimes need glue and screws. 30 to 110 euros, generally, and 1/100 scale
perfect grade, they're big. 1/60. all the bodyparts are layered with an inner frame and outer armor, like in the show. these are insane and often used for the most flashy, over-detailed builds. 220-500 euros? (edited)
