Yeah I definitly agree. My problem with tabletop for now was, that I had to much of an issue to disconnect myself from my charakter and felt bad for her actions or how other would think of me. I feel like Baldurs gate approaches this better than most other rpg games, because you basically do not have a past that plays a role (apart from like classes and backgrounds you choose) and you can even deny fundamental story aspects of the game, which is I think why it is so popular. But I also do feel like as much as the game tries to give you free choices, in some parts you are still limited. Especially when it comes to what certain charakters think of you because of your actions in the game. It is hard to like scewer information and trick them like you could in a tabletop rpg. The freedom of the game also expands to combat. There you have a lot of things you can do, obviously still not as much as your imagination, but the game allows you quite a few things. Although sometimes the gimmicks how to win a tough fight are almost too gamey and obvious.
Generally I do agree that tabletop rpgs are worlds better and I enjoyed them more than the game, but since it is a bit dry on that front, Baldurs gate is the best alternative for that.
