N1
I greet these pages, not as a knight, but simply a man here to observe and peak interest in every detail. My name is Mason Gleeful, but the people here know me simply as “Oreo,” due to my family name in Cookies. It’s a quaint nickname, I’ll give them this, but it’s not one I have yet to grow used to. If I were to be frank, most tend to call me “Dipper,” simply due to the Big Dipper constellation on my forehead; this is not very creative, I know. Either way, my twin sister insisted that I present myself as a knight for one of our kingdoms noble houses. I was unaware of her reasoning until I had spoken out to being a warlock.. for this, I was shunned to the queen’s desolate and damp dungeons. It was lonely, cold, and dark. Typical of Sister Dearest to not relay vital information before I go out to investigate.
While I had been preparing spells and incantations to rust the chains which shackled me to the moldy walls, a tourney host came to, enacting a deal like the demons I once toyed with. I believe these people called him “TS,” short for Tourney Samual. However, this demon did not take interest in my soul, but instead in my silence. I suppose it was worth my time in exchange for the queen to dismiss the idea of burning me to a steak. However, I did gain valuable information at this time, considering Mindar was a kingdom tolerable of witches, warlocks, and other magic users of their kind. This relieved me as it meant His Majesty, the queen, was only acting upon this ruse of hatred as well! Now that I was free of the dungeon and with a key to our land’s map, I was needed more than ever: a refreshing silt of freedom.
Tonight marks the first night I reside here in Mindar’s capital. The queen has been a lovely host, but it appears his spouse has been missing in action. All of the best, including His Majesty, have come together to try and locate the king of Mindar. I inputted my suggestions and gave whim to the thought of one of our knights here. Since we have five knights within our tourney, one surely has been lying - double the trouble, I happen to be a knight in a western tower, as “west” seems to be a hint to where the king is residing. The king could simply be portraying the role of a knight for a lick of freedom; it is not unheard of. Though even so, I still worry that perhaps I am the king, simply living an amnesiac’s delusion. Could the years have really slipped by so quickly without my notice? Ironically, time is the only mistress who could truly tell.
In other news, as I gain favor with His Majesty, in hopes of becoming royalty alongside his crown, another has courted me this fine night. I had been taken aback by this sudden show of affection, but it seemed the armorer was skilled with a sword… okay, perhaps I could have phrased that better. Blin and I had interacted prior to this meeting when I wished to seek armor for my knight’s façade. I will admit, I had been enamored with his craftsmanship and passion for said craft, but I hadn’t considered seeking any sort of amorous exchange. When you are a young and handsome mage of a small, old town, you find yourself forgetting faces often. Plus, an armorer has no gain for me, financially and societally. The queen, on the other hand, to become his king would be a man’s dream come true! Part of the royal family, a place I had always deserved!
Regretfully, however, Blin has claimed ownership of my life in the most brutal method… the framing of a double suicide if I were to reject, and the same result if I were to die to another’s hand. Now, I may not be a talented knight due to my inexperience, but I know spells and tricks to kill another. It’s not an action I wish to do often, but in dire situations, I could see the option. Even then, if he were to meet an unfortunate end, he’d be desperate to take me aside him. Truly, the man has a crazed delusion for a complete stranger in the name of “love.” (edited)
