Causing commotion is game throwing as you are not playing for your team, if it continues your result will be treated as such

Yeah, intentionally causing confusion when you are part of the team that specifically needs things to not be confusing is 100% gamethrowing.

and if it prolongs the game and increases your chances even slightly at winning, what's the downside aside from less points?

The main thing banned is game throwing, which is internally messing with you team causing a loss. In here we also consider intentionally helping the wolfs win (if you are town) game throwing too, Kings making as town is allowed as long as you are not helping the wolfs win, solos and Unaligned regularly chose which team they want to win or which team helps them the most to win

it depends on circumstances , normally prolonging a game can be considered game throwing, or gets you a very low rating (edited)
