Most facts about werewolves are exaggerations made by scared people that really want to make their story dramatic. The only thing these predators have really is their number and fear. My great-grandfather fought them with his trusty hammer, passed on in my family, but he always kept saying "any proper warrior could've easily defeated them if he wasn't a cowardy dog"
