This is kind of the reason why you can discuss your strategies here. You can try to figure out who's got what role. Deduction is very useful, and guessing roles will give you the most insight into who to kill first.

Which roles are dangerous to the werewolves? The fortune teller, for example. Who could have that role?

I mean, the first day is a mere guess, but who suspects you? If noone has a suspicion towards you, you will also gain the majority of votes during day, which will keep you safe from getting killed.

Werewolves we need to combine our forces so we all vote for one player to be mayor and one player to be killed. The mayor should be one of us. If one of us had the reporter we could lie and say they were werewolves

I disagree - they are not strong enough to overtake the rest of the group, armed with common sense: 13 v 5 with the mayor, and the reporter is useless if everyone with some logic abilities can figure out they are a werewolf

I say if we can't get at least one innocent to support, we back who we kill the next night instead of one of us, much safer

Wow I think that could have gone differently had he just waited a tad bit longer. I wasn't off of work yet to vote on someone else.

I think he kinda blew it. If all voted accordingly, in the worst case scenario it would've been your five votes against the five votes of the innocent.

Noone would've been killed today, after which the werewolves could kill an innocent at night.

Then the next day, you would have an absolute majority, and there wouldn't be a point anymore to remaining hidden. The innocents wouldn't stand a chance anyway.
